possibly a barred cochin ?!

Can someone tell me if i've got a male or female on my hands? about 9 weeks old.
The breeder i got it from said barred rocks but this one looks nothing like the others.
Please help!! hoping for a female!!

It looks to be a barred Cochin, definitely not a Rock with those feathered legs! I'm on the fence about gender. My Cochin boys usually have a big red comb before 9 weeks. Yours doesn't have a huge comb, but it does have quite a bit of color.

Agreed. 9 weeks old cochins usually leave no doubt on sex. I think its a pullet personally. Or a very slow maturing cockerel if it is. But I'm leaning heavily towards pullet.

I'm leaning towards pullet. I have 4 barred Cochins, and 2 are obviously cockerels. Mine are only about 5 weeks old, but their combs are already quite big. They're also A LOT lighter in color. On one, what's black on your pullet is light grey on my cockerel. The other isn't as light, but still obviously lighter then yours and my 2 I think are girls. I'll try to get some pictures of them today to share. It's raining here, so I'll have to wait for it to clear up :/

Barred cochins cockerels do tend to be lighter. 99% sure you've got a pullet there.
