Possibly bought sick chicks

Medicated chick feed should be fed to chicks that have not been vaccinated against coccidiosis so I doubt yours have been vaccinated so it will not hurt to feed them it. I buy one bag of medicated and after it's gone resume with non-medicated. Seems like your doing a good job putting the chicks back on tract. Their poo might be off because of the bad nutrition they were receiving previously so I would just see if it improves in a few days after their digestive systems have got used to the change of food.

I am relieved to see their droppings appear normal today.

If their droopings are rusty colored, look for more or any blood spots. Then get Corid at your feed store to start treatment for possible coccidiosis. It wouldn’t hurt them anyway to treat with Corid. But if any appear hunched, lethargic, or not eating, definitely treat them. Be sure to treat again for lice in 10 days to get newly hatched lice before they reproduce.
