Possibly buying a puppy.... Advice?

Sounds like you're doing great! Stay especially is a tricky one for puppies. We managed to teach our pup to play dead (the tail still wags ) but 'roll over' was never a success.

Haha! She sounds like a sweet puppy! I might try to teach my puppy some party tricks, but right now I'm working on the most necessary ones. I need to make sure she stays off of visitors, so down and sit are probably the most important.

I regret nothing!!!!!! I'm so glad I got a puppy.

Sounds as if you're on the right track with the training. I would teach her "go busy" (or your own word). Wait until you see her begin to squat, then say your word, then praise and reward with a treat from your pocket. This is a very handy command to have for travelling or for when it is cold outside!

It is, but it's so much fun to have a puppy around. Thank you!

What commands should she have learned by now? She's about 11 weeks old. I taught her sit, come, up, down, (Up and down onto my knees) And I'm working on stay and lie down.

Those are all good commands, except she is going to be a big dog and up and down on your knees will be less fun when she gets bigger and could encourage jumping up on people (something lab mixes can be prone to in their excitement).

I would recommend that you work on off (get off of whatever, me, the sofa, etc.) and down (lie down), then leash obedience with gentle games, always making sure she is following you and not you following her, with a sit when you stop.

Come command is essential as is the "leave it" to keep her from getting into trouble.

Food treats are very good for reinforcement of those skills.

Only train what you don't want to correct later on.

can do some rally obedience or other dog sport later. It`s fun and helps
with bonding.

I ended up getting the lab, then realized I didn't have time to train her as much as I wanted to. I gave her to my neighbor who just lost his dog, and whenever I visit her, she's very well behaved.
