Hi today I talked to a lady from craigslist she was very nice and has a few rare breeds. I wanted to buy her sickie pullet two easter egger's and some chicks. But then she told me she may have possibly had cocksy(not his u spell it...) now im skeptical. What does this disease do and how can I prevent it from getting in my flock or should I just straight up not buy from her and stick to buying hatchery birds or hatching my own?

Cocci? Not a good idea unless you want to invest more money into getting it cured. Also they could have other problems.

Best bet, get your chicks from hatcheries or your own. Knowingly chicks can get cocci but you would be able to control it.

Ok thankyou, could you recommend any good hatcheries as I just placed and order with mypetchicken.com but they were rather pricey, also I would want to be able to have all my chicks vaccinated
