That will work too! The only time you won't want that is when they are only a week old and they can't get the pellets down.

You could also make a warm mash of the pellets to start. This sometimes help them change over feed. Mine will be picky sometimes changing feed. After they take it and find it good, will probably eat it fine. You are doing great and will have that duckie fixed soon.
