I read this in an older thread
"Calcium gluconate is the best thing for egg bound ducks. For a 23% solution: 0.2mL/ 1lb duck twice a day orally."

I have a duck who seems to be eggbound so I went to tractor supply and bought calcium gluconate 23% solution , however, it says on the bottle to administer it intravenously or intraperitoneally (i looked that up I think its a shot into the stomach cavity?) So now I dont know if I got the right stuff to give orally to my duck??

here's pics, she has been acting like trying to push out an egg @Quatie
I brought her inside for a warm bath and gave her calcium citrate ( a pill for people) that I crushed and mixed with water in a syringe. and I put some in a bowl with peas. I kept her inside overnight I will see this morning how shes doing (s00n)

I'm not sure, but I know that some treatments for ducks are injectable, but given orally- for example, B complex cattle injectable.
But I dont know if this is the right stuff, let me just

Hi Thanks for replying
I had her in steamy bathroom for some time this morning, I also felt around her tummy and do not feel any eggs in there... and she did not lay last night. She is a 3 year old Pekin (named Quackers) and a couple days ago I saw her with a soft egg shell hanging from her tush, I watched her until it fell out. My ducks always have oyster shell available and I feed them their own shells after baking and crushing them.
Her poop is a watery green and I did see her eat and drink a little this morning but not as much as normal. Her tail feathers are fanned out and she lays down with her neck stretched forward, but honest she does look a liitle better today than she did yesterday.
So I can still give her the Calcium gluconate but I don't know if her problem is really eggbound or something else? Heres poo pics. Oh and I also added nutridrench to her water this morning just for a boost if she hopefully drinks some

I did give her the calcium gluconate this morning, and a nice long warm bath time, and no egg yet but I heard it can take up to 24 hours? I wonder if she should have more calcium gluconate tonight or tomorrow? Or is it a one dose thing?

Wouldn't hurt to give her another dose this evening. How is she acting?
Thank you <3 she lays down in a corner (with her butt in the corner) and still looks stretched out , and her tail feathers are fanned out, she 'hisses' at me (wide open mouth) when I come near. she only ate a little and drank a little.. not like normal, but at least something.
