Possibly eggbound hen? Help!

I don’t feel an egg anywhere in her pelvis but can feel something hard and possible round way up under her left thigh towards her belly.

Reminder, she ate a bunch of scrambled egg yesterday morning too, I think that may be the yellowness?
I'm glad that she seems to be improving.
No, personally I don't think the yellowness of her poop has anything to do with her eating eggs yesterday.
Initially you thought she might be egg bound and felt a something hard and round under her left thigh - do you still feel that?

I am no vet, nor an expert, but some of the symptoms you describe, I would suspect that she is suffering from a reproductive disorder. Which one, sadly, is hard to know unless you lose her and a necropsy is performed - even then some look similar and the names are often confused - so lumping them into reproductive disorder is sometimes the conclusion.

The Corid is a good idea, I would finish with that. If possible, get fecal float to check for worms. While neither of these (I suspect) are her main problem, they can cause complications in hens that are not well. Once you finish the Corid, I would give a direct dose of poultry vitamins (like Poultry Cell) for a couple of days (1cc per 3lbs of weight).
Some hens are able to rally for a while after they receive supportive care - she may have laid internally or has EYP and just needs some time to get back on her feet. Sometimes "recovery" is short lived, while other times they do very well for a good while. Time will tell.

I hope you continue to see improvement, you are doing what you can for her.

Honestly I just tried to gather knowledge of what could be wrong and started the process of elimination. I checked to see if she was egg bound (feeling her abdomen and putting a finger up there to see if I could feel an egg), then sour crop (massaged her crop and made sure it emptied overnight). I went to coccidiosis because of what her poop looks like (clear goo/dark green/white) and because after I stopped focusing on her pelvis I realized she has no breast meat - she’s super underweight. Now I’m trying to determine if it really is coccidiosis but I read it’s not harmful to treat them for it even if they don’t hVe it, so I bought Corid and she’s on day 3/5 for that now. I bought nutri-drench that I’m going to start giving her after I’m done with the Corid treatment to see if I can get her To put some weight on. I’m still at a loss honestly of what’s wrong. She’s definitely become more bloated since I brought her in too so I’m not sure what that means! I hope your girl gets better :(

Thanks for your input. I think my little girl was a bit underweight. Didn't check for an egg. Maybe I should have but I kept thinking I'd feel it on the outside somewhere. Maybe not. Doesn't matter now as I lost her Saturday night or early Sunday morning. I'm very sad I couldn't figure out how to help her. :(

Thank you so much! I did feel something under her thigh but the more I feel it the more I think it could just be an organ. I've never had something like this happen before so wasn't really sure (and still am not really sure) what I'm feeling. But I compared her belly to my other hens yesterday and they honestly feel the same, but her breast meat is definitely gone, she is tiny. I have nutri drench I'm planning on starting as soon as she is finished with the Corid, and I've been giving her hydro hen in her water. I'm going to try some cottage cheese today too. She's getting a little better by the day, but I'm pretty sure it is some kind of reproductive disorder as well, given her age, breed and poop. I'm just going to love her and care for her the best I can until it is her time or she gets to the point her quality of life is gone. Thank you again for your guidance!

Awe I'm sorry for your loss :( It's not your fault! So many symptoms are the same for multiple issues, it's hard to figure out what you're dealing with. I'm fortunate that she's given me time to try to figure it out, I was positive I'd lose her over the weekend.

Just to update everyone - my hen is still with us! She isn’t eating much at all but I’m giving her lots of options. Today is her last day of Corid and day 4 of amoxicillin. Her poops are the same, no blood but mucus and possibly egg. I’m still not sure if she has EYP or Coccidiosis or both but I’m treating for both. She is drinking a ton and I’m adding electrolytes to her water. Tomorrow when she’s done with Corid I’m going to start her on nutri drench. She’s skin and bones, but starting to become a little more energetic. Here is a picture of her being picky :) thanks again everyone for your help!

Extremely cute hen. all good things for her:love

She is standing at her little buffet, enjoying being the pampered hen. Glad she is still hanging in there. We usually never know what is wrong with out sick chickens until we can see what the organs look like after death, unfortunately. We just try to see clues and rule things out, hoping we are doing what is best. Let us know how she gets along.

I definitely will!
