I came out this morning to find my Buff Orpington limping. I looked at her leg and I saw a cut that had a yellowish scab. I am worried that it could be an infection. How can I treat her?

I don't see any noticable swelling or redness, so it may just be sore. I'd give it a soak in epsom salts, gently clean it up and use plain neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on it. Just keep an eye on it for swelling, redness, or any bad odor. Most of the time if kept clean they heal up well. I would look around for anything that the leg may have gotten caught on to cause injury.

It may have been barbed wire or a stick, I don’t really know. She could have got into anything. Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll try it.
