Not sure what my roosters have that is causing them to flop over on their sides then not be able to walk. Then they die with in a few hours. I thought it was cocci since my hens have that. But when I forced 1ml of corid down their throats then fed them some and gave them water they died within 2 hours. My current rooster I put him on the porch and since corid hasnt worked I didntgive him anything. He hzd fallen off the chair this morning with his feet up Iin the air. Im going to give him some sugar waterthis afternoon since hes not eating or drinking. Please help me aith any ideas of whzt tjis could be. Im having a rooster die every day. Lost 6 so far.

I'm so sorry for your losses! I'm not sure what could be going on but hopefully someone else will. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry this is happening and wish you the best! By chance your water does not have alage in it does it? I know algae can be toxic to chickens! Any other symptoms at all that you can tell us might be helpful in diagnosis. Any at all? Good luck and hope you can get this stopped!

Hello nope no algae I clean water dishes and contoainers at least once a week. And my roosters that have died before this have had very liquid diarrhea. Uf the rooster right now has had really thick normal looking poop. He also got up 20 min ago walked around and drank some of the cats water.

Just curious, when you gave the 1ml of Corid, was that straight Corid or mixed with water. What dosage of Corid were you using? Chickens may have died from aspiration(water in lungs).

That was straight corid but right after I gave them water with the syringe. And you really think so? I made sure they were swallowing. I know though with 2 of them they had liquid food and liquid just in general coming out of his mouth. The one I propt his mouth open because I thought he might drowned in his own liquid. And the other one once he died and his head was off the chair he started dripping a lot of liquid out of his mouth.

That actually is a fair amount of Corid(amprolium),considering the dose for a gallon of water is 9.5ml. The rooster that is not eating and drinking, how is his crop, possible impacted?

Well he is drinking now. I had said how he actually got up about 1hr 20min ago and hes walking around eating grass and drinking. But last night he couldnt walk at all. He wouldnt eat or drink anything. Im just worried that its some sort of disease that my roosters are going to pass onto my hens. I mean as of now it looks like my rooster magically recovered in 13 hours or so.
