Hello everyone,
Reaching out because we have another question this one about our dark Brahma pullet. We are in Washington and going through a 3 day blazing hot stretch.
The first day it was 100+ and we noticed our Brahma pullet was wheezing pretty bad so we pulled her inside figuring it was the heat. I was assuming it was simply the hot weather and she was much more affected than the rest of the flock but now I’m not so sure after scanning online for a few days. After two days inside she has just slight wheezing now, we have to concentrate to hear it with our ear pressed to her chest—we’ve also been giving her VetRX.
She’s moving normally and active, eating and drinking normally, and has no swelling or discharge or coughing/sneezing. Only the wheezing, otherwise she looks and acts completely normal. And none of the other 8 of the flock have any wheezing or any other symptoms. She does squeek
Matter of fact they are laying like madwomen, even when we had to pull them all into the basement because it is too hot outside until tonight. We’ve gotten three eggs today in the basement.
Not sure the proper course of action. I’ve read a lot on here about denegard for this application, but I wonder if it could be something else.
Anyone have any ideas on what we should do if anything?
