So, I have this one (Coturnix) quail who's been acting somewhat sickly over the past few days? She (or he, I get them mixed up somewhat frequently) has been kind of hanging out away from the others in the corner, with their feathers puffed up, and their head hidden. When I go to pick her up she is calm doesn't even fight me, which is unusual because she's never just let me do that. Around her eyelids are a little bit swollen and puffy. And when I set her back down a few minutes ago after looking her over checking for any obvious injuries she just laid there on her side. A little bit before then she had been lying on her back while the others ate.

I currently have her in a box in one of the bathrooms with some food and fresh water. It was the best I could come up with in the moment.

Does anyone have any advice or tips as to what this could be?

That is definitely a sick bird.

I would start by separating it from the others immediately in case it's contagious (though if it is, it may be too late), and put it in a warm, dim place.

Can you post pictures?
What are you feeding them?
Is it eating?
Is it drinking?
Does its poop look normal?

If this is a hen, check the vent to see if you can feel an egg. If it's pooping, it's not egg bound, but if not, it could be. That must be treated ASAP so she doesn't die.
