How will you ever give them up??? I think they both look like cochins, but Im afraid Ira is a boy.

I am in love with them! But I'm also good friends with the neighbors who're taking them in, and they're amazing people who I know will give the babies a great home.

As for Ira being a boy: we were afraid of that. How can you tell?

Oh! Also, if anyone has any idea what colors these little ones are, I would love to know! The neighbors aren't planning on breeding as far as I'm aware, but I think we would all enjoy the knowledge.

Pearl looks very Cochin-like now as well. I'd guess white. Ira is a barred Cochin, and her feathers say she is a pullet. If she were a cockerel, the white barring would be wider, giving an overall lighter appearance. Pullets are darker

Goodness, I hope you're right about Ira being a girl! Her personality is a bit more rooish than Pearl, who is very skittish, but because their development is so different (Ira is just so much bigger and fully-feathered than her "sister") it's hard to compare physical traits. Fingers crossed!

And white would make sense for Pearl, hahaha. She is so very light. I know nothing about Cochin colors; I did no research on them since I was told I was getting D'Uccles.
