A few days ago, I was just looking outside, when I saw a possom head towards our coop. I went up there to check on the birds when the door slammed by its self. Luckily, all the birds were alright. That night, we saw a possom on our porch eating some cat food (we have a lot of strays). So, we set a trap. A few days later 1/3/11, we saw the trap shut and a furry thing in the trap. It was a possom. So, we set it free in a park a few miles away from the house. So, no more possom, or pest problems, problem.......yet.

Where there's one~~~there's a dozen....and they'll be back. I lost 14 pullets in one night to ONE possum...I know it was only one, because he couldn't find his way back out.....didn't eat the birds, just murdered ALL of them.

My trap stays set 365 days a yr.....I've dispatched 3 possums this week

BTW, possums are can be trapped with a 55 gallon drum. Just put some cat/dog food, tuns fish etc. in a open top barrel. Lay a 2X4 or other board up to the rim and check each morning.

Possums usually die of lead poisoning around here.
Although our Rhodesian Ridgeback seems to deprive me of my gaurd duty.

A perditor will spend 24/7 looking for the easiest prey.

Good Luck
