Hi i have heard that it is 3 days post 21 days that one considers the fertile eggs non viable. How many days has anyone gone past the hatch date AND have a successful viable hatch?I have a hovabator circ air. Kept temp on top of air cell at 98- 100F with humndity day 1-18 in the 45-59 range and day 18 on 65-70. How long do i keep going until giving up?

My incy is still going with some very" full looking" eggs.

Thanks for any assistance!

I would wait longer than that. If your temperatures went down to 98 often, you're going to have a later hatch. Wait until you smell bad eggs, I say.

It sound like your temperature is low so you need to fix that before trying again. As far as this hatch goes after 23 days your chances of a healthy hatch is very slim.

I am confused I thought a cir air incubator was suppose to be kept at 99.5 so why are you saying her temp was low? Are you saying that even a 98 degrees dip here and there will create a late hatch? If so maybe that is why my hatch is late. I was afraid of a higher spike so I didn't worry to much about 98. Should I try and keep it to more of around 100.5 so if it varies it wouldn't go too high or too low? I just keep learning! This site is do helpful.

Well it should stay about 99.5 assuming your thermometer is right.
Yes a degree low is enough to have a late hatch or no hatch. If it's a degree too hot they might hatch a little early but they will hatch. I would set it around 100.5 to 101. I would also take a look at my thermometer as they can really throw things for a loop. If you have a digital medical thermometer i would put it in there and see how they match up.
