Quick question, my post count was at 998 about a week ago, maybe more, and today it is down to 963. Why is that?

There is a forum clean up on occasion. If you posted in a deleted thread and the system cleans up and catches up, then you may lose posts.
 
I've posted in a couple deleted threads, and that could be why.
