Anyone have a neat contraption to clean eggs quickly? I know theres industrial size cleaning machines, and i have my elbow grease and a pot scrubber, but is there anything in between that's reasonable for a 20 chickens? Like a toilet bowl brush connected to a power drill or something...

Why do you need to be vigorously cleaning eggs in bulk?

If it's for sale in accordance with local regulations your local Ag. Agent should be able to provide resources on how to accomplish it.

If it's for your own personal use, there's no need to routinely clean all eggs -- just wash the actively-soiled ones before using.

They're kinda "poopy" in the winter/after bad rain. I guess im just looking for an easier way to clean them, not necessarily deep cleaning.

It has been an incredibly soggy winter in portions of the US. I'm on sand and use pine straw in my run (pine straw dries faster than ANYTHING), and still had muck.

Can you put down more litter in a way that would force them to walk over dry litter to get to the nest boxes so as to clean their feet better?

There are brush like dealies....but not sure that would take all the poop off.

Then you'd need to refrigerate the eggs.

Are you selling to the public?
There may be regulations in your area about how eggs need to be handled and stored.
Nah keeping the eggs for myself. Ive actually seen that product its just pricey for what it is. I tried looking into golf ball cleaners but didn't see much.

Not sure an egg would hold up to an golf ball cleaner, lots of friction there to spin the round golf balls (am thinking of the plunger types at golf courses).

Just how dirty are they?
I don't worry about them too much, sell the clean ones set aside the 'dirty' ones for myself and wash before using.
