Waiting on a reply from the vet today. The crop was not damaged. Not visibly anyway. The worst of the damage was to the back of her neck and then she had some lesser injuries on her upper back. The main injury did come pretty far around her neck though.
I brought her in the house today to keep an eye on her. She’s been eating a little bit of soft cooked egg yolk and softened crumbles this morning and that’s been mostly ok so far.
I managed to catch some little clips of her actions and the sound but not sure how to attach video. Seems like photo is my only option? I’ll try to figure that out.
Poor girl!ok, I created a gallery and loaded three short videos there. Thank you so much
I does look like she's struggling and adjusting the neck or crop.
So hard to know since she was injured as to the exact reason she's having a hard time now.
Could be some scar tissue, nerve damage or ???
I'd continue to work on hydration. Try different consistencies of her food from really mushy/soupy to dry and see what she's able to tolerate the best.
Was she ever tube fed during recovery?
