I went to ship eggs out today. She told me if I didn't want them to throw it around I had to pay for express. I told her what was the point of marking the box fragile if they are going to throw it. I was then told I could do whatever i wanted but the box would be thrown. I told her well then Do NOT throw it. I am pretty sure from the nasty tone she threw it once I left. I told her that her comment explained a lot since many of my packages have been broken damaged eggs. Sigh.. Whatever happened to when people did their jobs and didn't have a huge chip on their shoulder. She had no name tag because I looked. But from way she was talking I assume she was someone higher up too. So direct from post office they will throe you boxes regardless of what you put on box.

So sorry!

I would report her!

The post office ladys here love to see the boxes labeled hatching eggs and boxes of chicks that come in. They ask if they can come over and see them all the time and I have no problem with it!

I've gotten two packages with broken eggs......I hear ya! They really could care less if the contents is fragile....They will blame the packaging.....

Hi! That is why we wrap and package eggs with the anticipation they will be handled roughly / dropped / etc.
"She told me if I didn't want them to throw it around I had to pay for express."
That is a comment from one person, working (I'd guess) the counter at a PO. I'd have asked to speak to a manager right then.

Just to me seems poor service to purposly throw a package because it is marked handle with care fragile. I am postive she threw it into the bin when I left just put of spite. I have the receipt so I might see who to complain too.

She was telling you the truth. She was not saying *she* would throw it, she never has a reason to throw a package because of the way window service units are set up. But someone will. That's just the way it is. There are many, many people that handle your packages that you don't see besides the people you give it to and the ones that deliver them to the destination.

She was just telling you the truth. It will get thrown. If there were a way to guarantee it never would, then you wouldn't need to pack them so carefully. It's always the messenger of bad news that people want to shoot.

I read a wonderful way to pack eggs here recently. Use a coffee can!!!! Bubble wrap the eggs really, really well, seal the with more packing materials in a coffee can and then pack the can into the box. She said her eggs never arrive broken - ever. I'm gonna try that!!!
