Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I decided to see how close up I could put my phone in Bella's mothers face before she got angry, this is how far I got before she did a power peck and nearly took the phone out of my hand!

I don't know why I bothered giving Bella's mother a clean egg because she has just managed to get it dirty too:

Heres Daisy's eggs. She has a clean one and a dirty one (the one Bella's mother originally got dirty) Do yous think the eggs still stand a chance of hatching?

Bella has taught the chicks to see me as a threat now -__-. As soon as they see me, she sets calls them over and they all run off. You should see me having to chase her around the field to catch her now. Its so annoying! Do yous think it would be mean if on a night I was to lock her in the broody coop with her mother and auntie until 1PM and then she can have her treatment and go back out?

Johnn, you seriously crack me up!!! A Power Peck?!

I just imagine you doing that in my mind's eye, brings tears to my eyes.

I would coop her up, then give the medication. It is better than running around the fields like a chicken with your......nevermind.

Well I guess its only for the night and morning, so she will just have to live with it because its only for one more week. And I didn't know what else to call it! It wasn't just a peck, she put all her force into it!

It is a B and other vitamin deficiency and imbalance Don..Lot of people give pedialite or poly vi sol with NO IRON to any babies showing symptoms in eyedropper..depending on how severe the symptoms the milder ones snap right out of it , a bad case of it may take couple days...they are not doing a great job with the feed mixes..cutting corners maybe..I keep vitamin water in the brooders..you really have to do this if you are using medicated feed..it can cancel out your B vitamins..some birds arnt bothered at all, some are more prone..
Good Info. Don was asking for me. I switched everyone to medicated feed back in March after using flock raiser non medicated due to worries of Cocci and my chicks hatched in April and have only had medicated feed. I am putting Lifelytes in their water. I am debating on whether to order a Vitamin E supplement. Here is a pic of my chick. Might go get the poly vi sol so I won't have to wait for shipping.

Now I am just worrying about getting her thru the heat today. She is hanging out under a bush right now and I keep spraying the bush down with water.
