Thanks so much to Aveca and PugBug for your kind words about my birds. I love them so much!

I keep running outside every few hours to check on them with this heat wave that we're having....It's up to 104 degrees right now...I took frozen watermelon out to them this afternoon and they devoured it! They love their watermelon and the frozen water bottles that I put in their water to keep it really cold!

What a great mom! so nice that you try to keep them cool in that horrid weather..it has been cool here but as of Monday its going to get a little ugly..

Frozen watermelon is a favorite here too. Mine also get frozen water bottles or ice in their water and some times frozen bottles on their floor. They also like puddles from the hose to stand in. I am out there every hour or so to check on everyone and give them another puddle or fresh water. I love summer but I am over the heat.

i love those frozen water bottles chicksooner....ive used them too..i think of them as chicken air conditioner..i fing them laying next to them to cool themselves..

Does anyone know what causes young birds to get wry neck?
Medicated feed, lack of vitamine uptake, chicks eating layer feed, injury, Corid, accidental posioning or toxic grounds or lead paint access.
