thank you. Very pretty lacing. I have had some to hatch and start out with nice lacing only to lose it later (can't remember exactly why, thinking they are missing some much needed genetics). I have a different line cockerel I am going to use next time to see what happens.

I agree....this last heat wave we had here caused my 5 month old babies to start wheezing a bit...if after you make sure they have cool shade cool water and a nice breeze and they are still wheezing you may want to consider getting some antibiotics for them...tylan is the best wheezing...they only have to be on it for 3-5 days depending on the severity of the infection. I only use the water soluble powder...they do have an injection one but I am scared to use that one.

Looks like a pullet to me.

I thought I had these 2 sexed but now I am undecided. The first two pics are of the one I originally thought was a cockerel. The last pic I am sure is a pullet. Any opinions? They are roughly 12 weeks old. I can't find any sex feathers or any true signs of a cockerel so I am confused. Thanks
These blues are going to be extremely hard for me to breed to get nice lacing. I seem to get mostly medium or dark blue and am fighting the "small head and light eye" things. There is going to be lots to cull & I don't hatch very many so I don't know where this is going to go for me.
btw: beautiful pics as usual and cograts on the show win!
thank you. Very pretty lacing. I have had some to hatch and start out with nice lacing only to lose it later (can't remember exactly why, thinking they are missing some much needed genetics). I have a different line cockerel I am going to use next time to see what happens. When I am working on developing a line I always shoot for the type and then I go for color. In my mind once you have developed good type its alot easier to move on the little things like lacing. Hope this helps. looks like you have a great start, good luck! She has the best lacing but still needs improvement in lots of areasNow I like her type but lacing is poor

It was my thoughts too. BB hatched one lone blue chick today and if it turns out to be a pullet that will be 4 for 4 out of the last 3 hatches (one was an EE).Looks like a pullet to me.
