Cheryl, I'm so sorry about Mabel. She was a pretty girl.

These birds are tough to get pics of, as there is so much tilling that needs to be done in those leaves.

Here are a couple more pics I got while in the yard with them.

And I always seem to get butt shots. Typical orps with their fluff in the air.

Never too many pictures of those fluffy butts, Jody! Spring is in the air .... great time for photos! Now, go back outside and get some more! I wanna see more of those gorgeous Lavenders! I sooooo love them!

We all have wish lists. Many are doing a project to the end and enjoyin a nice Orp bird. Mine is to incorporate some of the Fluff from my BEST Orp hen into my Black lines. I hatched two chicks from my best F-1 Hybrid off a Buff hen. His brother has zero Red Leakage. BUT< seeing the FLUFF factor is a go, and knowin I can produce a 100% Black is a go. We have another 20 eggs from the same breeding that produced this boy in the Bator. Son of B U S T O F F

Actually there is someone in here from down south Cant remember the exact location I know one or 2 of you have seen this persons birds, they were considered best in US. I saw them and just couldnt beleive what I was seeing. Super nice seller too. Easy to talk to ect...pretty humble person for having birds that good. They are out traveling right now showing I think. Might be La. I have an E-Mail from them I will have to go back and look. I want to buy some from this seller next year.
They must have sneeked in some european eggs cause those birds were just perfect .Last time I talked to them , they were considering breeding siblings back . Learned a lot in a little time from them. they had eggs for sale in here a little while ago. lavenders and blks. truley have never seen birds like that. Wished they were represented in this post cause their orps are eye candy for the orp lover. Jees I wish I could remember the name off the top .
There is another breeder from Pa just down the road a peice from me also good breeders. and really work with you. very nice birds.

You know, My baby orps looked like this baby, funny how when they grow up they look fantastic but they can look like raggy when they are this age. At first I thought it was the australorps and something was wrong .(all same color roughly same type together in the brooder) had hatching eggs lorps and orps. . I couldnt figure it out as I have only only had australorps until now and wanted to buy some decent blk orps to show too. I now realize this is one of the orps. Slightly different feather type . swore that was an australorps egg hatching not one from the orp breeder. guess I was wrong. you get so excited about the eggs hatching that its hard to keep track especially when your tired and the birds are all the same color . Also the face looks just a little different than lorps .

Maybe someday I can call my teeny farm orps and lorps.

Hey Jody, I'll have to get some picks of the baby orps . I tried to get a couple picks the other day but the 1 second delay in my camera drives me nuts, take a picture by the time it actually takes the picture babys are off to parts unknown.

I want some more next year so a hopein and a prayin your selling eggs or chicks then. Still nursing the injured husband . he gets a walking cast on the 9th of april. he is not the sitting around type so its driving him and me nuts.(would really like him to go do something, or just get out of my hair)

First show is in august then one in sept. showing eggs as well. the australorps are 2 now and the eggs are super nice and are now getting very big. super nice smooth shell.

THANKS lildinkem !

I was kind of worried as like I said I only have australorps and they too can look a little ratty (I call them rag pickers) my husband calls them turkey vultures at that akward age ,

But nothing like these babies lord I thought they got exposed to radiation or something and got monster feathers. So glad they grow up to look that nice. I knew that but lordy. The pullet looks little like she got caught in a hurricane.. Im going to try to get a couple pics of them tommorrow , not easy with my camera they dissappear befor the stupid thing actually gets the shot. They get little better looking every day body wise or conformation.. Nice eyes on these birds, real happy with that. Just wish I could get a few decent pictures instead of blurr and a tail or part of a face..

I have this picture from last year of pants the Aussi Lorps pullet now 2, at least its something till I can get a pic of the blk orp babies. I had some of her eggs in the bator with the orpingtons
