Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

OMG don't tell me I now have to start showing! Good grief I've got 47 eggs in the bators and really would like to breed, but I already have way too many... Also we've had meraks here, so until I move in the next 3-4 years I can't really expose anyone else. We vaccinate etc, but I'm crazy about bio-security...too bad

Ok Lizzie is mad at me, but I can't help taking a picture of her fluffy butt, she's just shy of 9 months

LOLOLOL No Cheryl I am not saying for you to show. Though to raise some up and put together your future flock is in your hands.
From the butt end of your girl, she could use some width. But to be honest even the very best I seen, I mean even Doug's Buffs can use some tweeking on the tail. I think the tail is one area that is often over looked when it comes to breeding for traits. Many of mine included, have what they call a pinch tail. Where at the top of the tail it narrows, like someone is pinching it. And I am making a great effort to work on finding the right boy to take to my pinch tail Buffs. I have culled down to 3 main cockerels. All three have a tail that I hope to work some width on the higher part of my Buffs tails. I think my Blacks are farther along in that department.
Yeah she is very nice quality, and is not hatchery grade at all. You have a nice girl, and we need to get you a good boy, one way or another.

ok I'll leave that in your capable hands. LOL Find me an amazing boy.....She's a gem of a girl and if there was any breed I'd like to breed it would be those. You make me smile She's getting a face cleaning right now from my GLW. I'm sure she's thinking I'm going to smack her when she's not looking!

My Mabel that we just lost was amazing...came with Lizzie as a pair. What a chub, she followed me everywhere, what a huge loss for me. but while I love her gold collar, probably not breed standard tho

Awe I am sorry you lost her. She does look super sweet.
Here is the Best English winner. Doug's girl. I was the only other person showing LF Orpingtons. And to come in second, knowing I did have a bird beat one of his Buff's makes my day. Never has a looser been so happy

I was lucky enough to have my bird cages set above everyone else's Nothing like looking up at a towering Black Orp, or Cochin cockerels to catch ones eye.
Here is my boy who came in second to Doug and beat Doug's number two Buff pullet.

Hey Julie I just seen this post. You know I will be. You are making some of the best Blacks and Blues known to man kind, now your Buffing it. I'd better break out my Black Magic book and cook up some babies to keep up with ya.

Here are some pics of one of my fav blacks. He is about a year old now and very large. Sweet as can be. Thinks you should have a treat for him everytime you go in the pen. He likes to call the girls up and share witht them. Big John
