Jeremy,

I still think it will be white. Look at the difference in color on the legs. Your chick has much darker legs.

I guess we will see in another couple weeks.

You should contact the seller and just ask if they included splash or white..I was leaning toward Jermeys guess...but the silver down says White orp to me.

.So just my under-educated guess, but I will say White...the little bit of yellowing on legs is throwback to silver dorking in past...they would be very pink like Jeremys if Ideal...but that sometimes changes to whitish pink as they get older on the ones you have...nothing to worry about one bit, unless it stays yellow.

I like how wide the one you are holding is..Love to watch them as they are developing, hope you keep us posted on them..

You can get a white pullet occassionally with dark legs. I got one even from an imported male. They are still viable as a breeder as long as the rooster don't have dark legs. Black split whites give you dark leggs offsprings also. Where you got you birds they should have told you what to expect as far as color or possible sports.

Harry is right.........it is not uncommon for whites even imports to have the darker bluish legs, it comes from breeding them to blacks to increase type....when bred back to white legged males its pretty easy to correct in little time..sometimes they have a little yellow in beaks , or legs , that is throwback to dorking past..it took the origional breeder 5 years to breed out the 5th toe....That story is in the standard bred orpington, a free book for your kindle at cornell free library..great reading..

I know a couple of book titles have been named in this thread...

Can anyone suggest some good books on orpingtons; how to tell what I should be looking for?

And anything on learning basic genetics?

I typed "chicken books" into ebay and got nothing interesting. lol
