Just found a old pic of my very first orpingtons! (they were bantams) someone who shows chickens give them to me because he was going to kill them because they wernt good enough for show...

Well they died in 2011, one went missing then i found her dead a month later, then the other was killed by something but im not sure what, it just took one bite out her back, i quite liked them too. They were better layers than the orps i have now...

Mebys they are protective over each other but the mother stands more of a chance against that hen then Bella!, That hen is Crazy, Bella is weak and the mother is tough!!

I know this seems weird with Bellas age but she had her FIRST dust bath today, she went in the feed shed with her mother and the old cockerel and had her first dust bath, she was loving it! she was like spinning around the whole shed! Bellas mother got mated for the first time that ive had her today, i was quite shocked because it was by the small old cockerel i could hear her doing the little squeal they do haha


Bellas auntie is her brothers favouraite hen, look at teh mud on her back thanks to him!:

Also Bella was going to challenge Ginger again (the one her mother dethroned after ruling the roost for 4 years!) but she didnt have her mothers back up so ran away!

Mine is also a lot like this, but mine fight back. All except one peck her right back and show her her place in the pecking order. She doesn't even dare to peck the hens higher in the pecking order than her.

Bella just runs around pecking every hen hoping they will run away instead of fighting back!
