Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

They'll get it worked out, Johnn. Let more time go by and I'll bet it calms down as Mom backs her up less and less.
I think they are sort of over the mother and daughter relationship now, i think they are just really close, neither of them have friends. So really they just have each other.

Here's a little northeast snowdrift from the storm in conn

Another egg off Bella, i know they are hers now after the nest box i found this one in because the only other hen it could be wouldnt lay in that shed because the mother orpington wouldnt allow it:

Its starting to snow here and its going in a drift that makes it go through the little sheds pop hole. So to be nice i decided to move the box they perch on higher up and out the way, and they were NOT happy, i had to help them figure out how ot get on it, the mother orpington slept in the middle with Bella and Asparagus on the outside. I dont know if Bella is still on it because her mother kept pecking her for no reason, so incase sge got kicked off i set her a perch up lower down:

Well , sometimes it gets like this..Rochester is pretty used to it..they get lake effect snow that is unreal...sometimes we get bands of it can last for days.., Oh, it wears you out just looking at it.. You have to go dig your chickens out , sometimes the wind blows one area wide open right to the ground, but that 3 ft of snow winds up to be 9 ft deep somewhere else..I have regular Ice climbing crapons hanging on my fireplace ..I have to go out and feed animals..it can get dangerous when the ice moves in like supposed to tommorrow....One lady went out to feed her poultrry and calves, fell down in the driveway..slid all the way down into a pasture ganining momentum as she went..hit a tree , broke her leg..lucky she had her cell phone in pocket..called 911 but no one could get to her..they had to fly helecopter in to get her..that was a couple years ago..

I stay here and feed the orpies..I dont care, not going to drive anywhere in it, not even over town..it comes down so fast you wind up trapped in it like these guys..

It started out minus 7 this morning but by afternoon, nearly 40 so all poultry were happy to be outside running around..we shoveled out thier pens, we didnt get it quite as bad here..

This was 1978

What made me laugh about the coverage of this storm was the storm you talk about from long back. I kept clicking on "news" of the storm and getting pictures of people where it was snowing. Oh goodie. And it wasn't even but barely covering the ground they were walking on. But it was SNOWING! OH EXCITING! Not. "News" people are just so.. well they make me laugh sometimes.
