Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Thoughts and prayers to Tammy Manasco (Limestone TN). Their Orpington barn burnt and over 90 Orpingtons were lost. In a Pm she permitted me to share her tragedy. I personally know what it feels like to have such a tragic loss of birds and have offered some hatching eggs to her of what I do have. Most of hers were imported Orpingtons from Marc Sarce, greenfire and the UK. You may contact Tammy via her website at http://www.motivatedmoms.net/manascomommy

ETA: Her's was a composite flock of American SOP type, and imported lines from several breeders, including some from Greenfire and others.

And their coop today....

<<<<< That picture belongs to me.... I have other poses of my bird taken that day... can look back on BYC and my FB page.. will find pictures of him.

While I can certainly sympathize for their loss.... Jim make sure you are posting pictures of their birds and not mine

She had some photos on her FB and I did not look and see who they belonged to. Just assumed they were hers. In any case, seems someone had been trying to steal birds. they added padlocks and electric fencing to deter thieves. It is believed this was a case of arson.

I can't imagine what kind of a monster would do something like that... somehow I would feel better if that was electric Fire.

Some people get so full of rage, anger and hatred they will do almost anything. We seen that with our own flocks. Our sheriff said in our case it was possibly "an unknown third party failed to feed and water" the birds. I was stranded without transportation for a week +. So I can imagine someone with that much anger and rage that would destroy such beautiful birds. Tammy said they are sure it was the neighbors that kept trying to steal some. Hey, you want a chicken dinner? We have local foodbanks that will give you the food with no questions asked! Don't steal or torch what you can't steal!

Well, I'm hoping that was Just a freak electric fire..lets Hope it Was....people who dwell on that kind of hate will be consumed by it..if they don't find
Justice in this world, they will find it in God's..they will reap what they sow..might not be today...might not be tomorrow...but they will
Feel every ounce of suffering they caused.

This, absolutely.

IF it was arson, how could anyone do that to so many innocent little lives.

Hello, friends of the wonderful breed, Orpington. I am new to your thread.

I am very sorry about the fire. I hope they recover from this horrific experience quickly without more damage. Yes, human nature can be very ugly! Envy can trigger evil in people who are lacking compassion for sentient beings. But, at the end, the evil ends up hurting themselves more..

I have Pekingese dogs which I breed once in a while, and show. One of my dear friends, the late Nigel A. Jones, was the owner of " Ch. St Aubrey Dragonara of Elsdon". She was the first Pekingese to win Westminster, BOB. Shortly after, she was sold to a lady who owned numerous Pekingese, as well as other top quality dogs. After a short while, her kennel was set to fire by someone to prevent her dogs from competing. She was too much of a threat to other exhibitors. All her dogs were brutally burned and killed.

Two of my dogs which I have imported, were damaged while I was in the show ring. One gorgeous male was poisoned, and the puppy girl's eye was damaged. Both were winning without ever loosing. The boy spent many days in intensive care, and developed nerve damage, and my girl lost one of her eyes. Of course, neither one could ever be shown again which I am sure the perpetrator/s were quite happy not to compete against my dogs.

I stopped showing my dogs two yrs. ago. I have more than enough champions to prove that my bloodline is very good, and I no longer feel like I have to prove that my dogs are of excellent quality. Their well being, and happiness is more important than the ribbons and titles.

Shame on the people who hurt sentient beings because of Hate, Greed, and Ignorance!!

Lual
