Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

The 2014 United Orpington Club National has been placed at the APA National at Knoxville, TN in Dec. All you Southeastern folks, you got it. Should be a super show.
Do you know the date Don. That is a That is nineteen months away. . I hope I have some show birds by then. My girls had just come through a molt in Dec for a show in Pensacola this past year. I need to get to hatching and get me some good looking ones that arent old

totally agree too

It is very dishearten that she has last whatever % of her flock, she needs to be conserving her eggs instead of selling them on Rare auction, and let her insurance company do what the get paid for. But to each their own. On the other hand if she is wanting help from people on BYC, then she needs to be the one asking, there is to many people out their trying to make a quick buck off of everyone's hard work.

All I can say is,,, the conversation is way to hot to touch. Most insurance as such will pay for some or most lossess as such. For instance, if some of my chicken are stolen they are paid for if proper procedure/documents,identification, and photos are provided. But, if they are killed as such by dog or other wild animal then no that is considered neglect on my part. I hope this helps.

x2. The only thing I will add is we have a "farm policy" and found out after storm damage a few years back that our chicken house was not covered but our shed was. I don't know why.

Dang Bill, you have green grass for the birds, now that's nice. When I did blue bantams, I got my best females from a blue crossed over a splash.

I just put these girls out today. I have about an acre of grass. And much of it has been picked over. Tomorrow I am working on putting out the White trio and some of my Buffs.
VIVI I am limiting to just one dedicated Blue pen. I may pull this cockerel out and put in one of my Blacks. Size is no problem in here. The Splash that my Master Conditioner and friend Lee has Patches up to 10 lbs and over. She is wider then the cockerel. And he is no small boy.

Sounds like its going to be a great show..Im going to try to go..It all depends on what the work schedule is..Hoping to get to meet you and the other orpie people in person

Everyone who has asked about my monofilament line over my Orps' orchard take note. This was this morning, 2/17/2013, with the lines covered in ice. By 3:00 PM all the lines are clear , and back up tight. Great stuff !

The bird netting over some bushes at the base of the lines held too much ice and snow, but the hydrangeas are just sticks at this time of year.I could never have netted this orchard with it as it would have sagged too badly.
Amazing Photo Vickie, especially for NC...Thats why I cant use Nets ...you can see what would happen to them..Use Aframes and break up pens instead so hawks cant get a good running start at them...

So happy to see its coming my way!

I may not have anything to enter but I will plan on attending. I am going to mark my calendar now.

ETA: Don does this mean you will be coming back to visit, albeit not the prettiest time of year for us.
You bet, unless the weather is bad. That time of the year you can get some rough weather.
