Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

One of the reasons I fell in love with Orpingtons, regardless of color, is their friendly disposition. In all my years of raising them even the roosters know their job, and are big sweet birds.
Scooby, my blue rooster, is a monster! When people come with their kids to pick out chicks, the parents first reaction is to swoop up their kids when Scooby runs up to say hello. He is huge. Then it takes them awhile to see that he is just curious. It is amusing to watch.

This is good to hear, thank you. I just love this breed and would like more in the future. Do you know if that goes for the Bantams too? Are they really small are more like a standard size?

As galanie said, stay away from hatchery/commercial type breeders. In my experience the Orp bantams are bigger than most, but not as big as the English type. Find a breeder/lover of Orps in your area and they LOVE to show off their birds.

Wow, and she doesn't look mad at all!

Bella never fails to make me laugh! She went up to one of the top hens and started squaking then pecked the hens head really hard several times, the pulled the hens head to the floor by her comb and then when the hen broke free and lifted her head up for a fight Bella just turned around and ran away!!
