Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Bella never fails to make me laugh! She went up to one of the top hens and started squaking then pecked the hens head really hard several times, the pulled the hens head to the floor by her comb and then when the hen broke free and lifted her head up for a fight Bella just turned around and ran away!!

x2!

I have bbs and now have buffs.  I have only had Orps for around a year but all of mine are sweet laid back birds.  I can't speak for hatchery stock as I have never had any.

I got my Buff sisters from Costal and they are sooo sweet! I just love them. So I don't think hatchery chicks are all that bad. I know I hear a lot of comments against hatchery chicks but I had a RIR that I also got from coastal that lived to be 14 years old and laid eggs for most of its life. I know to get the best type it's better to seek out a breeder. But I think the chance of disease goes up with someone that takes their birds to shows verses a hatchery. Great to hear color doesn't matter.
