Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Bella's dad died today, I would have got a Buff Orpington cockerel to replace him but I think one of Bella's mothers chicks are a boy.

I should have a few nice size birds from this trio.

He could use a nicer tail

Really like this hen. She is second generation from a pair I got at the Ohio Natls in 2009 from Bamma. The boy is 1/2 from that line. Just give me more of this I am happy....

Patches is back! And living large~N~Lovely. Heck she is as wide as long. She certainly could use more back.

She's a bowling ball.

Just look at the bones!

Not sure who is the mommy of this Blue Splash cockerel.

Darker Blue who is shy.

These Blue chicks are out with some Whites

Lost one of my beautiful Buffs today (8 weeks old) somehow she got trapped between the wire and the gate sometime today and could not get back out. Couldn't figure how she did that, but put an extra layer of mesh across the gate to prevent any others from the same fate. Sad as they were all so beautiful and healthy and thought I was past any of the normal "baby chick" risks.

Sorry about your chick. I know that even when I think everything is "baby" or predator proof I find I am wrong.

I lost 2 cockerels Saturday night (they were in the only pen that did not have hot wire around it). Whatever it was took my 2 blues & left the black. I was going to use one of the blues and get rid of the other 2. Oh well, it happens.

Sad but true, all part of the cycle.

Here's a few pics of my Orps. The buffs hatched March 19th and the blues/blacks on March 30th. The pics are not that great it was getting late & the flash kept washing them out. They have all outgrown their coops so hopefully this weekend we will get started on new housing for them.
