OK educate me..

Is this a fluke in one of your breedings?
Is this a breeding program and you used bird a ..b..c..d..and e to create this?(Cuckoo Maran/Orpington/Aruncana)
Are you trying to get blue/green eggs from Orpingtons?
Curious

No, I get these wild looking birds once a year from breeding my BUSTOFF line of Blacks. It seems that these oddball recessive traits like to come in pairs. Last year I made a Black Rumpless Bantam Orp. I gave her to my friend LEE. The year before it was Bantam Rosecomb Cuckoo Orps. This year this oddball may have come from one of 2 pens. He could be from my breeding a Dick Dickerson Cuckoo Marans cock to one of the BUSTOFF line of Cuckoos. Or from this huge Cuckoo cockerel. I am thinking he came from this fella. This Rumpless cockerel is near twice as big as any of his hatch mates. I usually either cull or give away birds like these to friends. The last Cuckoo I let go was for $19 to VIVI so she can make some Red Cuckoos. I have other total oddballs. Some I think do not even have a variety description to compare too.

I also am getting alot of Duns. Mostly mixed with really different looks.
Like my Robin with the Red Breast. A Dun color with a vivid looking Red.

This is Dun with I guess a Silvery Splash look.

Your just over in Ohio. IF you come thru Indianapolis let me know and you can have the 2 Dun girls to play with. Our State Fair is in August. I think it is $35 to enter birds. That is $35 for just one or 101 birds. Flat fee, you get parking passes in the best lot during the week of the poultry show. A really good time for family and friends.

Bella's mother has a new annoying habit. She has decided once she enters the shed no one else can then come into sleep. I had to force Bella to go in because she is that scared of her!!:

I was quite insulted, I know they are a bit saggy but still! It's almost as bad as the person who called Bella's mother fat! Oh well, adleast it proves they are fed well!
