Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I think, its not what they say..its how they say it..Americans are more used to insulting - rude tones..some people are a little more proper. they think befor they spew thoughts

Thank you for that. I didn't even consider the sociological aspect. And I should know, I have a Texan fiance and when he first moved to Oregon he was stunned how we all talk to one another. Proper we are not. lol.

So with that being said; I think John has the most beautiful birds, and I would love to have one of the babies from that line. I have never seen such personality. It is like "watching" a soap opera. Awesome!

Sure daisy will like hearing her saggy wattles don't effect her quality of showing!, She is getting her feathers back through after being attacked and having mating damage. They are all going on Growers next week so should help finish the feathers off!:

Bella's mother had the chicks for a dust bath today, she was practically rolling around on top of them, if you notice in the pics they sometimes disappear!:

I gave standard black Orps to a freind upstate NY..he sent me pics yesterday ..they look really nice but I accidently gave him an aussie pullet instead of blk orp pullet so hes coming down to swap..Im really liking that cockeral..I kind of knew he might turn out to be nice..He looks like his father and has mothers fat head... nice round chest. he made day sheds and pasture for them when they are out of the barn where they roost at night...he comes home every day at noon to check on them..

Pretty sure this is aussie pullet..shes too light to be blk orp..the ones I kept here are hefty hideaways..so swapping in July..

One of my better poultry buddies told me about a conversation with David Pownall he had. David is prolly one of the most respected Orps breeders in the world. David resides in the UK. Paul is Canadian, and an APA judge. Paul said David asked him "why are your American Orp's backs too long?" Paul replied,"why are your UK Orp's backs too short".
Point of this is to stress to folks, that you breed them the way you like them. That is what I am doing. I was told that I should not use a mixed breed bird that I called BUSTOFF by more then one or two of the UOC members. I am glad I did not listen to them.
One of BUSTOFF's great grandsons is daddy to these 2 Blues. The Blue line I was given have thrown shorter backs. To correct that I used one of BUSTOFF's son, my famed Harold the Brown/Red to hopefully throw longer backs & possibly give me bigger heads.
The darker Blue has more of the body I like. The lighter colored Blue has the color I like. Just a matter of time before I get one that fits what I want.
Great Great grandson's of the BUS

Seems like I will have no problem with longer backs and nice heads in my Whites.

Nice full rounded breasts is what I like.

Mouse is one of many Great Great grandson's of the BUS. I have to thank both Harry and Alan for encouraging me to use these males to make some better quality birds. Breeding is such hit and miss. In poultry you best not hesitate in breeding. You need to take chances. So far I like what I am seeing from the grand kids from Harold.
I always like these full rounded breast males. Especially in Black
