Bella's mother is REALLY annoying me! She has got to be the worst hen I have ever had sitting on eggs! She has moved her nest which was in clean straw in the corner of the shed:

Back to the middle of the shed in the dirty straw were hens trample on the eggs when she is off!

These are my babies who at one point were all sleeping like Lemon... flat out. Has anyone ever seen that before? They are all orps.

Bella had her first treatment today. Some anti biotics syringed down and a foot bath. It was so easy to syringe her because she just sat and screamed the whole time, so she left her mouth open!

Am I right in thinking these are bantam orpingtons? (the ones that aren't the Ancona's.) I got some black Orpingtons from them a few years ago because theyw ern't show quality and i got the Ancona Bantam that Bella fights with from them too!:

So nice to hear that poor little Bella is having her treatments. I hope she will heal fast and be back to her adventurous self very soon. The landscape in your photos are very pretty. It has been many years since I have visited England; photos makes me nostalgic..

They look like bantams to me. English bantams are much larger than ours. Those blacks look like US Orps. They have main tail feathers.
