Thanks Lynne ! Wait until you see Hungry's 2 GIANT boys. They are absolute stunners ! It makes a big difference when you hatch from large, mature hens. Now for the fun of raising them in this sauna.

This could even be the one that got Bella's auntie a couple of months back. I will only trust Bella's mother out with the chicks alone because she is crazy and would probably fight it if it just landed in the field beside her!

thought I'd post some Orp quick phone pics from this morning....1 lone SOP Buff chick at 3 weeks and 1 lone huge, Korfus english blue chick-also 3 weeks...
I am thinking the blue is a cockerel...not sure yet on Buff.
What do you guys think thus far?

Orp is next to an almost 2 week Buff Rock chick...

That looks like a very big blue BOY to me.I'm afraid that the Buff may be a boy too ! Look at the dense down on the blue boy ! He certainly doesn't need much heat ! Very nice YELLOW legs on the Rock chick too.

This chick hatched from an egg sold to me as a silver orp...definitely not silver or lavender but could it be a splash? I wasn't sure about beak/leg color. She may be a barnyard mixture lol...I'm new to orps so any ideas would be appreciated.

Max and Hungry's first chicks . Max is Monty's little brother, and Hungry is a Monty son. Some will be ready to ship in September/ October when it's cooler, and they are 8-12 weeks old.

Max's babies are marked on the head with magic marker until they can be toe punched and banded .
