Might I have an opinion from Orp experts, please?
This is Katia, who is a little over 5 months old. She started squatting last week, and this morning got the first "bawk" of the egg song out of her mouth. I understood Orps don't lay till 7 months, so do they just take a long time to practice squatting and singing, or do I have an early layer?

Looks like she could start laying anytime. I've had them start from 5 months to 7 months! Just depends on the hen/stock. Nice look Orpie girl!!

Thank you! I think she is a beauty, too- she has a beautiful dark eye and I love her expression. Good! I need to finish her coop and get those nest boxes ready!

I love the color on Liz Lemon- reminds me of a good palomino horse- that almost copper penny color is so lovely!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between an orpington and a wyandotte other than the comb style and a half pound? I've looked at a lot of photos here and they look just like the wyandottes to me???
