Come on over. I actually sold that Son of Charlie this year along with the rest of my large American girls. I kept 3 chicks hatched under a hen that was the son over the Americans. Can I say they look awesome so far. I need to get some pics. I sold them locally so I know the lady who has them.
I am waiting to see how the Charlie over daughters chicks all turn out. The color looks really good along with the lacing. I am just hoping they are as large as my daughters of the Americans. I hope they are as typey too with all the fluff. Time will tell. My oldest ones are now six months old. I have kept two blue pullets. I don't like the oldest blue son. I have some younger ones I like much better. I am still keeping him for a few more months as he is only 5 1/2 months.

This girl right here is very large. She is a favorite of mine. I have some chicks hatched off her and Charlie that look really good so far.

Isn't it hard to part with any of them, once you hatch them out? I wouldn't want to cull any of them, and I would need to buy even more land, and build more coops ! ! !

It is less hard when your spending 60 dollars a week on chick starter. Also I have goals. I am breeding up for very large size so I have to cull the ones that don't make the cut. I sold a gorgeous blue pullet two weeks ago. Her lacing was awesome and her fluff something else. She was product of half Charlies bred together. I just think she was quite large enough. I have some really large girls and I am just going to use them this next year. I will try a few breedings to see who produces the best size and color for me. It sort of wears me out hatching so many. I work and this is just for fun so when you get 100 to hundred and fifty chicks to feed and water twice a day you don't get to spend as much personal time with them. I don't want to hatch that many this next year.

Oh yes, that is alot of hard work and lots of feed money! I understand what you are saying. Just to help you out, you can just send me the eggs, and I will do the hatching for you.

Kathy you must have lots of pens and room with all the colors and breeds you have. I hope to just update mine when the weather cools a bit. I want to build some conditioning pens for shows. One of my younger groups are so sweet. They are very curious when I am in the pen with them. They want to get on my shoes and peck my fingers I think because of the fingernail polish. They like the bright colors.
