I didn't keep them. I thought mine looked too much like an Australop and I decided the Lav color wasn't the color for me. At least not the ones I had anyway.

Please don't be offended or discouraged. That is what projects are all about and any breed really. Improving.

I'm liking him because he is hefty. His comb is more correct than anything thrown by this roo so far. He's got a great personality. He looks long in the neck, but that is how he's standing..........I hadn't planned on keeping any of those males but now I'm on the fence. Any opinions are appreciated - seriously..........

ETA - yes, the cockerel in question is int he first 12 pics. He is also in the 13th pic with the other black and the lav cockerel. Thay are first week of may boys.

Sarah, it's really hard to judge a bird by a picture. You can't see it move and get a true picture of the full body conformation. With all that said, I don't like to give much feedback on pics. Now if I see a bird in person, I'd be happy to point out what is good/bad. I would highly encourage you to grow out the chicks you just hatched and hang on to one of those boys. There should be excellent specimens for you in that group.

I was on the fence with my "Bob"... I'm glad I kept him. He didn't fully come into his own until he was a year old. Now at 2, he's fabulous.

The black roo has potential IMHO. Very aesthetically pleasing, and I'd like to see photos when he's a little older.

That is good to know and thank you for posting. I would never have guessed it would take that long for them to show true potential but now I will be patient with all of mine.
