Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Hi all

I know this is a heavier breed, and I'd like to add some orpingtons to my flock but I have a question about roost height. My heaviest birds right now are BRs and they do just fine with with a 5 foot roost with an additional 2.5 foot ledge to jump/land on in between. No injuries and no issues. But I know the Orps are a bit heavier than the BRs. Any thoughts

My blue Orps have a roost shelf less than 2 ft off the ground. Suede is always spraining his leg when he runs down the outside ramp and jumps off, so I want to make sure he at least can't hurt himself inside the coop. He's about 13 lbs.

Here's the only blue Orp youngster I have. He's 11 weeks old, light blue like his mom and has proper dark eyes like her, too. He's going to be a good boy, I'm betting. Needs a home, too.

my buff orpingtons jump up on the trash can[food can] and then jump up on the roost which is about 4 feet high than fly off it in am. my nest boxes are about 28 inch off the floor and they have no problem there.
