Thanks, Nicole helped build it. Went for lumber, held boards in place and offered me screws. She even added the straw for nesting. The other day she came in and announced, "No eggs yet!" Her birds were hatched in June and should start laying soon as we have now added a timer and lights to our poultry pasture.

Nicole was a little upset yesterday. The new chicks are not hers! Shea sked what they were. I told her they are Buff Orpingtons (thanks hinkjc!). Nicole asked, "Buff Orpington Bantam?" I told her no, BIG Buff Orpingtons. She sighed and said, Oh, well!

She sure likes the Buff Orp bantams. I may get her some eggs at Shawnee. Several breeders will be there.

Thinking of making some Birchen Orps. I have Bruno. He has some great size for a Marans cock. And now have this Birchen pullet. I like the contrast of White/Silver and the Black. Not too many people have either Birchen Orps or Marans. I like the potential of this breeding. Nice thing is I already have the birds. A no brainer far as a project goes.

I have these 2 cockerels I would like to sell or trade for some silkies. They both carry the Lavender gene and one is Lavender and the other is black. They hatched on September 24th of this year and they come from Beth G's line from CT. They have very little human contact other than getting food and water everyday. They need to be where they can possibley work in a Lavender project for somebody or just be pets. I have a Black Orphington that is a huge gentle giant. When he's out he follows me all over the yard. I need a girlfriend or two for him. I was trying to hatch out some for him but I got these 2 boys instead. What I can use as far as silkies go are a pair of white, a black hen, a blue hen and a partrige hen. I'll concider all offers, just PM me.

I saw my one buff pullet lay an egg today! How long do you guys wait until you hatch the "pullet" eggs? Its nice and big with the correct shape.
