Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

A wonderful idea was presented to me via email from a good friend. That is to take my 75% Milkey line 5 month old Black cockerel to my best Black Bamma line pullet. The Black pullet is the one on feathersite.com (a Tubby daughter) to make very nice combo of Milkey/Bachelor. The thought is to make a huge Black line with all the polished traits and feathering quality from the Bachelor line needed to compete someday.

Flotilla an Oct hatch, 75% Milkey line cockerel.

Taken middle of last summer. She is a hen & is in with Boss Hogg right now.
She was a month older then my Milkey cockerel is now, to give an equal idea to compare to.

I know I know...I am a thread killer... Illia said that my wonky chic was not barred, that it was partridge, duckwing or some pattern as such. but I would like to know how do you get that in orpingtons? does it just appear? or do they have to carry a pattern gene for it to express??
