So sorry Louie....I can tell you that since I moved to KY 12 yrs ago and would leave to go on vacation or just a weekend, with a smart or dumb caretaker, Ihave lost an animal from horses to dogs etc. So now when I leave I just expect tragedy & sometimes I am pleasantly surprised, when I return. I have forgotten where you live, I am in Central KY & trying to hatch some of my Blue Orpington eggs, if things go 'right' I should have 3 hatches this month, but this is my first time w/ Orpingtons( they are so sweet) So I might have a couple for you.

These are my new babies...I actually got 5 out of 8...my first time so I'm happy with my Brinsea and how it went. Question for all...what color are these? I ordered B/B/Splash eggs. These are pale siver or grey with some darker grayish black and pale yellow. I know it doesn't show that well...I'm hoping these aren't all black but I can't find a black chick picture to look!

Hi! They are either black or dark blue and black... You really won't know for sure till they start to feather out and even then some dark blues can look black. I have that going on in my brooder right now, have two full siblings one black and one dark blue and it is really hard to tell the difference. I guess when the chest feathers start to come in then then they will be more noticeable as to who is who.
