Here is a picture of my Buff. She is such a sweetie! Never had chickens before so I didn't know what fun they were. She is 5 weeks old here;

I know this is for Orps. Do Orp X count? Here are two Whooops that turned out kinda cool. The first is crele colored Orp X and the second is Isabel (Lemon Cuckoo Orp X Lav. Orp).

I am planning to put the Crele Orp in with my Eng Black rooster. Apparently, all the male chicks will be Cuckoo and the females will be black. I will then take the Cuckoo roo and cover back onto its mom to get cukoo colored Orps. Think it will work?

On the bottom pic, are they pullets or roo's? I have some blue "pullets" born in early May and they have good size combs and waddles, not really red yet, but they're definitely there., more like your bottom chick than the top one. I also have two hens about a month older that have little to no comb or waddles, so I'm a bit concerned. I know pictures are better, but just curious..when would you expect your pullets combs & waddles to start showing? Thanks

2 pullets 2 cockerels of the Buffs. With some Orps it can be 3 or 4 months before they give you a definite indication of what they are. Some of my lines will tell you within the first month and some, like my Whites and Buffs will take 2 to 3 months of age. The better birds have a very low profile comb. I would not worry when their this young. Plenty can happen in the next few months to make of break the quality of these birds.

Reidinger that is one nice 50/50 mix you have. And the White pullet is spectacular. The base color of blue is what from I am told is what everyone would want.
I talked to Harry last week, he said most definitely your Whites and my newly made White line are cousins. Something that one of us has the son of his best male and the other has the brother to his best male. Some of the other White Orp breeders say how nice a job Harry has done with his Whites. And I can see Harry has taught you well.
This is my only Blue Cuckoo. He is from a Blue Cuckoo male out of my Lavender, which I hatched from Harry's Lavender eggs, and one of my Black hens who has 50% Cuckoo Wyandotte.
This is his son.
A nice size boy. Needs some more growing out to do. And very little visibly seen Cuckoo.
