Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

One of the BUSTOFF line 5 month ole girls.
Eye could be darker. She will be taken to a dark eyed male and that should correct the lite eye for future chicks

Decent size head and chest.

Whats the SOP for orps? I like them, and the colors are beautiful, but how come some look like they are rumpless (

The young roos take longer to get their tail feathers as a general rule..... But honestly.. right now... I have a English Blue Orp that is truly rumpless.... Where he came from is anyone's guess.... Let me know if you want him lol

Renie your not the only one.
I have one who is my Brown Red Orp Harold's fav girl. She doesn't know she does not meet the SOP. She does a great job covering her one eggs today. I rooted her out to show how much a fav she is to Harold and how rumpless she is. A bare butt rumpless Orp is not a pretty site. And prolly never will be accepted. But someone has to make Harold happy. And this girl seems to keep him from going to my other girls in his pen til the Central Indiana Poultry Show I hope.
Harold's favorite girl.

This is one I hope to show here in 4 weeks.

A pic if Whites and Buffs

LOL... I will get some pics of my rumpless blue roo for you... He looks like a basketball with leggs.. lol I even checked him for a tail... nothing back there. Now where did you get them whites???? I am lookin for some?

Harry Shaffer usually does not share anything with the public. He did send me one heck of a nice White cockerel this spring, I paired him up with a Feusting Buff Sport pullet and a Patterson single comb White Wyandotte pullet. And all these are from that trio. I have 8 boys and 17 girls. Will narrow down to 2 quads for the up coming season. And will be using a Feusting Buff Sport cock I have posted pics of before this coming year as well. These Buff Sports are from Feusting's Buff cock which won the 2010 Indiana State Fair junior Show. That is one heck of a nice Orp cock. I can only hope to make something White nearly as nice. Harry's cock is stellar too. So, this newly created White line is already making better quality on average then my Blues and Blacks. And what is nice I can use them with my Whites to help better some traits like tails and help the Blacks with some genetic diversity (not like I will need any for a while with these Whites, they are already as diverse as anyone could hope for).

Also have 4 Whites from Pontious's White Orp line. They do sell on EBAY and I highly encourage those interested in Whites to look and see when the Pontious's have an auction on EBAY.

Not sure which 2 are Pontious White girls. But 2 outta these 4 White girls are pontious. they all look great to me. And all 4 will be in the same pen with the 2 pontious White boys I hatched from their line.

one of the pontious boys is in the backround of this pic, minus his head

At one point I had 6 with 4 hens, luckily only 1 now.

Gayle and Norm Pontious do raise quality Orps for many years. You will see them off and on at APA Shows here in the Midwest. Gayle is a good friend and really knows the genetics behind raising these beatiful birds. I am still very new to Orps and still learning from vets like Gayle and Norm.
