Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

You bred and hatched her, good feed and exercise only goes so far without good breeding.
Haha, so, paint her nails and take her to the show. Then give her a nice boyfriend or two. I think those are great ideas for her.
She has a great top half. You could land a fighter jet on her back. Nice and broad.. Better watch out, I may just borrow her for a few weeks and take her to several of these boys I have runnin around here. She looks great Lee. You should let me enter her at the Central Indiana Poultry Show. You are unmatched as a MASTER CONDITIONER when it comes to poultry.

That is a spraddle legged chick. Sometimes you can use masking tape to keep the legs from splaying out. That will help them get up, but not always. I think you need to check on your feed. Try adding some Calf Manna to the hens' ration. Just a 1/2 cup a day for 4 hens.
K thank you I found out about the bandaid thing late last night, He seems to be doing okay with it. Poor baby.

I have had a strange drop in egg production too. They get tons of scraps, rabbit pellets, bird seeds, scratch grains, egg layer crumbles, and oyster shell. The only change is its been cold at night.. I just strated turning on the lamp... at night. I did however find a chicken kill in the lot next to us, it wasn't one of mine. COyote or dog, there was only feathers and blood. Though they are locked in the barn at night... I shouldn't think thats it fear?

I will think about it, if i did i would have to move everything and i think the hens wouldn't follow me to a new place, and some feeders are atached to a tree. and they have killed one of the hens to eat so i feel bad for feeding them now :(
Put down a 2-3 inch layer of straw, then hardware cloth over it, steak it down then cover it with some sand and more straw. You should have better luck with that mud, atleast give the chickens an 3x5 area or larger.

they are only ever in that part for the feeding, the rest of the field is like this:

Well we're getting close to the Central Indiana Poultry Show deadline for entries. I may have to give ya a call and take that sweety to the big show and show her for ya. We can talk and I can come over and set the date up for her to go. This show is always been my favorite to go to. And I know the UOC is trying to get more folks to show splashes to better the chances of the APA accepting them into the SOP. So this maybe good for all to let her go.

I am liking this Blue fella for a future boyfriend

In western Oklahoma, we would love to have some of that mud, for a few days would be nice!!!
the pen is terrible today, everyone was fed in the shed apart from the lower ranking ones who were sharing the outside feeder, under the shed its is about 5 or 6 cm high with water and for some reason the orpington chick and a ex batt happily stood in the middle, that is the only time the orp chick has left its mother! (the mother was in the shed with the orp chicks brother)

Okay, sounds like a plan. Yes, that has turned into a pretty awesome show. He is...is it okay to say a rooster is pretty? haha, pretty handsome! Oh wait, show her under your name, you are the breeder. okay outa here for awhile.....

I will show her in my name so you won't have to send in an entry. But will tell Doug, Paul and others you are the owner and conditioner. And most likely she won't be shown against any other Splashes, IF not I feel sorry for the person who brings one to try and beat her. She looks like a BV to me.
This Blue boy and his Black 1/2 brother will be good suiters for her to share her genetics.

Lee remember those gorgeous Akers Buff hens you gave me 3 years ago? This Black's granny is one of them. I think it would be cool to breed him back to your Splash for some Blues. Then you could get some of those Buffs genetics back into your flock.

Back to Back comparison. Not too sure but i think I used a Blue that the one granny Buff you gave me son to make this Blue line. He and the Black are 7 month oles with huge thick legs.
