I can see that this thread hasn't been visited in a while, but I'd like to spice it up, add a few more pics, and keep it going so we can get many more photos on here. I just got my chicks over the last month or so from Cackle. I live an hour away, so I just drove to pick them up. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even threw a couple of extras in. I will be posting a few photos in a couple of weeks once they grow out a little more. That, and all the rain we are getting makes it hard to get photo shoot.
Here is what I ordered from Cackle (they range from about 2-4 weeks old right now and all should be pullets):
-2 Cuckoo Marans
-2 Welsummer
-1 Cinnamon Queen
-1 Buff Orpington
-2 Delaware
-1 Barred Rock
-1 Australorp
-2 Brown Leghorn
-2 White Leghorn
-3 Austra White
-12 Easter Eggers
So far all are healthy. I have had no sick or unhealthy chicks. It is too soon to tell if all are actually pullets so I will have to update in time if any turn out to be Roos.
I will periodically post their progress and what their eggs look like. I bought quite a diverse selection, so if anyone in the near future is interested in birds of these breeds, maybe they will do a search for cackle and these breeds and find this info.
I promise to post pictures progressively, and information about their egg color and production.
