Aw nuts! I find it seldom pays off to try & rehab any wildlife. Didn't stop me from trying to rescue 3 chipping sparrows that fell out of a tree we fell for firewood. I felt so responsible & I knew where some nests were. I had hoped the mom birds would adopt them. They never did. Even in the same species.

Yeah we didn't want to move it because it's parents were feeding it. his leg was splinted we were going to take it off in about 3 weeks but he didn't make it.

The way we found it was even worse mom and dad had food for it and were trying to feed it. i nearly cried.

Aw, so close! You tried to give it a chance. You did the best you could. So sorry! Live, learn & move on.
 

My chicks are almost 8 weeks old now. These are White Chanteclers

Here's my EE & Buff Orpington pullets.

This is my big White Rock cockerel. Biggest of the 28 chicks.

Oh yes, Basil the Basque, who's 11 weeks old with Missy the pug mutt in background.

My Black Australorp cockerel. Got 3 boys & 1 girl.

My Dark Cornish cockerel.

An EE cockerel.

The biggest EE cockerel & starting to crow already!

And another EE pullet.
