So I ended up with 5 total. The other eggs were kicked out by the broody.
All of the first four were yellow with black spots. The last one looks like this:


This is a white silkie x white splash sultan mutt chick. i certainly never expected to get one that looked like this!!


Here are the others. None of the eggs were from the broody:


The chick to the left has no spots, but the other 3 light ones do.

My cat making sure we are keeping the chick warm enough:

Hmm, that's funny. I picked up my chicks this past saturday, and they all eat out of my hand, and jump up into them. Even when i put my hand in the brooder, they come running as fast as they can.
 
What is the substrate on the floor of your coop? Your chicks are still just as adorable even without all the fluff!

strssdmom... (I love that user name.. that's me too!) I used Washed sand... it's a little fine.... but I had already purchased a cu yd of it... so that's what I'm using... it will be easier to "scoop poop" with it... I think if I had it to do over I would have used a coarser sand....
