Post pics of your silkies

You're welcome.
I don't have any silkes but I like looking at everyone else's.
By the way, are silkes mean? are they kid friend?

Silkies are the lap dogs of the chicken world, at least I think so...
This is my Silkie/Cochin mix, Miss MoneyPenny.

She has an opinion on everything. Sort of like Obelisk, but not as loud.

Okay, here are a couple of pictures. The little grey girl in front is Buttercup, my very favorite one. She will sit in my lap for the longest time. Behind her is LuLu my partridge girl (i hope).

This is another of my favorites, Diana. She is also very gentle and likes to be held.

This one is named Morgan, after my neighbor's son, as they both peep very loud.

Now Nickie was a homely little thing the first couple of weeks, just a dull black with a weird face. But she is developing the prettiest colors and biggest bloomers. i have no idea how she will finally turn out. You can tell she didn't want to pose for the picture.

This white one came from the silkie hatching eggs i bought on ebay. The seller also sells ameraucana hatching eggs. She was my very first born. To the right is Buffy trying to reach the bush bean leaves through the fence.

i have more, but will give other people a chance to post. Joebwe, i had a silkie rooster 20 years ago that was MEAN - came flying at me spurs first whenever he saw me. But my hen was very sweet. i guess it all depends on the chicken. So far all my little guys are super friendly and gentle.

Here is a silkie, cockeral named Pluffy.

Do silkies crow as loud as a Speckled Sussex would? And when are they supposed to start crowing? My silkie is 15 weeks old and hasnt really started crowing yet, i think he tryed once.

Here's my little he/she. It's only 12 weeks old. I hope it's a she!! It is very friendly. Loves to be held and cuddled with.

Amanda-
I adopted Elvira when she was already laying. She belonged to another family but they gave her to the local breeder when they moved. She's not breeding quality, so the breeder called me and I picked her up!
She was about 8 months when I got her and she'd just started laying. Gwen and Daisy were also around 8 months when they started.
Elvira is a craaaazy broody! She's seriously like this

for weeks.

PS to joebwe25-
My silkies are very nice girls, especially Gwen. She's a lap chicken! Elvira is a black bag of crazy... She's a nice girl but she does the strangest things! She will be scratching and pecking, happy as can be, then out of nowhere, she will jump, sqwack, flap and run off full speed! I don't know why she gets so offended like that!

Daisy is also a nice girl. She will eat out of my hand but doesn't cuddle like Gwen.
Here is Gwen with a baby Potpie. Potpie is way bigger than her now!

I forgot to mention that they go broody with frightening regularity. And they've stubborn about it too...
Penny fluffs and screams, but she doesn't bite like when Obelisk went broody, thank the Gods.
