They are 1/8"x11/2"x16' rigid aluminum strips that I bought at a business liquidation auction years ago. I bought just a little over 10,000' for $60.00. I've been told that they are very expensive retail. They do come in handy for all sorts of projects.

You can see my coop and pens on my BYC or web site. I use hardware wire on the sides of my pens (attached with air-gun staples). I then use livestock fencing on the top of the pens.

I used bottle caps with screws instead of washers. They rough edges grab the wire really well and the fun part is collecting the caps.
